You sure the connecting rod fasteners are not for VQ35 rods? Do they have a nut for each bolt?

Not sure about specs on VQ but the torque specs for the ARP head studs will be different than factory specs. The Evo guys do 85 ft.-lbs. with oil and 65 ft.-lbs. with moly (some even do 85 ft.-lbs. with moly to prevent head gasket leaks). I'll be using 85 with moly when I do mine within a couple days.

The instructions will tell you how much to torque.

That's 85 on the nut... not the actual stud. The stud should be hand tight (no torque spec).

uhmmm....their not stock rods.

for the head stud kit. SGP says to follow the factory method of torquing down the heads, but i rmemeber ARP gave me some number with and without moly and it was different from the FSM...i am lost again.

cool....that number sounds about right...hahah

if the Evo studs are the same size then the torque spec is the same too, cause i remmeber calling up ARP and i needed to measure the stud diameter for the correct torque..didnt matter on what application it was being used on.

ok so i got some a ss lube and lubed those boys up good today. torqued down the heads, but now i cant figure out the torque spec for the connecting rod caps. FSM says 15ft lb and turn 90 degrees, but that was for the factory torque to yield bolts...ugh i dont even rmemeber the brand of rods i got...
