ARP torque specs
so does anyone kno what the torque specs are for ARP studs on a VQ30? please specify with or without moly. i also got connecting rods with ARP fastners on them. Does anyone kno the spec for that?? putting my car back together...heeh. thanks!
Not sure about specs on VQ but the torque specs for the ARP head studs will be different than factory specs. The Evo guys do 85 ft.-lbs. with oil and 65 ft.-lbs. with moly (some even do 85 ft.-lbs. with moly to prevent head gasket leaks). I'll be using 85 with moly when I do mine within a couple days.
The instructions will tell you how much to torque.

uhmmm....their not stock rods.
for the head stud kit. SGP says to follow the factory method of torquing down the heads, but i rmemeber ARP gave me some number with and without moly and it was different from the FSM...i am lost again.

cool....that number sounds about right...hahah
if the Evo studs are the same size then the torque spec is the same too, cause i remmeber calling up ARP and i needed to measure the stud diameter for the correct torque..didnt matter on what application it was being used on.

ok so i got some a ss lube and lubed those boys up good today. torqued down the heads, but now i cant figure out the torque spec for the connecting rod caps. FSM says 15ft lb and turn 90 degrees, but that was for the factory torque to yield bolts...ugh i dont even rmemeber the brand of rods i got...

Kyle does not work there any more. You should ask for Shawnn or Mark they know there stuff.
