Anybody have experience with the Clutchnet red (race only?) pressure plate?

I ordered a six-puck, sprung clutch from Clutchnet, and instead of sending me the yellow pressure plate, which is what I ordered, they sent me the red one. The red pressure plate is recommended for race only.

Anybody have any experience with the red pressure plate? I'm guessing it will be pretty grabby.

MikeD has a "red" clutchnet PP, however he purchased his before the change in their website so I'm not sure if it's the same as your red pp. Before they changed their website, he said they had two PPs offered, a stock replacement one and an upgraded one, the red one is the upgraded one. Now the website indicates that there are 3 or more PPs, green (stock), yellow (upgraded), red (race) and apparently red x2 and x3 which I would assume are "racey race" and "racey race race" heh. I'd contact them and ask them exactly what the difference in clamping force is between what you wanted and what you recieved. I can say that Mikes red PP is not bad at all, a bit stiffer than my ACT and stock (my ACT is almost completely stock feeling which is odd) but nothing I'd hesitate to drive all day in traffic in any more than any other manual transmissioned car.

Thanks for the input, Neal.

You mention the ACT feeling like stock. My ACT clutch always felt very stiff, until two weekends ago when I replaced my slave cylinder. It now feels very much lighter, like stock 5 speeds I've driven. Weird, huh?

I have the Red pressure plate, 6-puck. It's not bad at all, daily driving is fine. And it's held up perfectly to days on which I did up to 25 runs. The only thing is that when this thing grabs, it grabs like a ****.

Have red as well.

25k and holding up well. Last time I had my tranny off I inspected it and other than some of the red paint having peeled off - it looked new.
