am I safe (low knock levels)
Ok im running 370 with the z32 maf and safc controller. I dont realy go into boost in 1st 2nd or 3rd but in four and fifth I may let it spool up to about 12psi. not at over 50% throttle though. The highest knock I have seen is 19 on the safc. So am I safe with doing that? The plugs seem to be alitte cream ish to white ish. I may need to add a little more fuel. And Im using a areomotive FPR. Does it add more fuel presssure to every pound of boost it sees. It is a 1:1. How does it work? And am i safe. I went to 18psi in fifth and did not get a knock level of like 15 at maybey 40% throttle
From my expierence 19 knock on an S-AFC is nothing. I have seen almost 200 a few times and no damage was done. I know when my fuel and timing is at a critical point, and only thing worry about is 100 or higher knock.
Be careful getting into higher boost levels at partial throttle. Unless you have well tuned partial throttle maps you could be in a danger zone.

If your timing maps haven't been changed, your car runs more aggressive timing at partial throttle than at full throttle. Boosting in higher gears is higher potential for damage, more load on the car. Also you're insane to be doing any of this without a wideband, just asking us if we think you're safe. Get a wideband or you're running a very real risk of getting a new motor.

well still not sure if it is really that safe but I did check the plugs today and all of them were black. So what do you think? Im not really getting into it that much anymore but tyring to get the break in miles on it to get it to the dyno.
Timing maps are determined strickly by the theoretical pulsewidth which is basically how much air is going into the moter. (at least on VGs) Therefore throttle position doesnt really matter. Now however i do not know how a piggyback controller would affect that kind of think.
What are you using for boost control, the wastegate spring? Off topic, but I was just curious. I'm also going to second the suggestion for a wideband, it's really the only way to see what your car is doing.

ok this is at about 10psi.
fuel pressure is at 45psi (areomotive rising rate)
Safc setting at high throttle from 2400rpms to 6000rpms is about -10-12%.
Im using the Z32 maf.
I lost my job and dont have the money to dyno or get a wide band right now.
The plugs are black but thats better than having them lean so Ill leave it at that for now. Maybe ill try to lighten them a little but not much.
