Top Feed fuel rails with MEVI

Hey guys

I kind of asked this s part of other threads but with no reply, maybe it didn't get any attention. I was wondering if it is possible to squeeze a top feed fuel rail under the VI manifold. I know for 00VI they already use Top feed and know there is enough clearance there. For MEVI, has anyone tried this? I tried wedging an aftermarket rail between stock intake manifold and lower intake manifold but it was a real tight fit ... my rail was quite large though. Fronts are not an issue, it's the backs! Well, thought I would ask here if anyone knows for sure. I already have some 780 cc and 980cc injectors I would like to use but they are top feeds. I don't want the hassle of switching out for an 00VI since you pretty much have to buy the motor to do it - the price diff between used DEK and manifold makes DEK motor more economical for sure.

thanks!

If you went to an 00VI (which will out-perform the MEVI) and then sold off your MEVI, you might come surprisingly close to breaking even (possibly even come out ahead!).

try getting the lower manifold from the 5th gen were the existing holes for the oovi welded shut and machined flat so thenu can have the new holes drilled for the mevi to bolt to the 5th gen lower. Aside from the holes and the 5th gen lower fuel rail being top feed there is no difference between the lowers. i think u can make it work. it would easier i know everyone to put the 00vi but if he doesn't want to spend extra money and already has a mevi i would do the same thing . it is possible to do this , but just not the easiest.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I have been kicking around the 00VI idea around for a while now, then thought, well the cost of an 00VI alone is probably the cost of a used VQ30DE-K motor, then I thought well for a little more, I could get a VQ35DE motor. But then thought well, the stock VQ35DE motor can only hold 400+ HP, so do I want to do internals for $1500 more and have something good for 800HP .... you know how that thought process goes right ... then it gets out of control! After that, I came back to MEVI again and trying to make that work! Geez! Decisions decisions!
