Highest HP daily drivers

I know you can get pretty crazy numbers out of these engines when boosted, but how many of you are daily drivers? Whats the highest boost thats driven daily ect. Some of us (me) don't have the luxury of a second car for when the motor leans out/needs a rebuild, makes tranmission soup, whatever. I guess my real question is what are the highest "safe" numbers.

check the dyno thread up top.. that should help...

~300-350 whp seems to be "safe".. 400+ is safe if properly planned for

well Its kind of hard to say on the motor. As you could have as low as 220whp and a crappy tune and blow head gaskets and etc. Now on the tranny it hard to say they dont take much abuse thats for sure

When it comes to a very powerful daily driven maxima it is not so much about the "safety" of the motor as it is about the useability of the power. The biggest problem with a 400+ hp maxima is that it is kinda useless on the street. Your going to need some very stiff suspension and be driving on DR's every day if your even gonna think about hooking with a 400+ hp maxima.

Mike D's right.. with regular radial tires or winter tires like I have on right now it's a joke to drive unless you like wheel spin up to 4th gear.
My car runs 13.40's @107mph with 12-13lbs of boost on pump gas.
I drive it every day regardless of weather. The stock engine now has 213,000miles.
Hope that helps,
Scott~

You can drive your boosted car everyday. As long as it is properly tuned you should not have any problems.

Unless your giving it LOTS of gas.. our turbo maximas pretty much drive like stock... powerwise at least.

A proper set-up and tune with any car/engine can usualy be driven daily. If you take the time to plan and not build a half assed set up you should be fine.
