3" CAI on an SC - will it make any difference?
Just wondering people's htoughts on putting a 3" CAI on the S/C vs a 3.5" one.
Seems it would be a heck of a lot easier to fit in there without having to move the windshield washer resiviour.
Since I already have a 3" U-Bend lying around, I'm going to try it.
I'm ordering a 3.5" - 3" adapter and will be installing it next week.

I've already had a 3.5" CAI before with the resiviour in-place.
I had to uninstall it about a year ago while tracing down an oil leak in the S/C. However, it was somewhat jerry-rigged using different pieces of piping and rubber from Home Depot because I never could get the fit and angle to line up quite right....
I'd like one that looks a little nicer and isn't such a PITA to fit in the fender.
So my question isn't whether or not I can have a CAI and whether or not I will get gains - the question is whether or not a 3" pipe instead of 3.5" will have any detrimental effect.

I answered my own question by just going and doing it.
used a 3.5" - 3" silicone adapter and a 3" steel 90 degree bend.
Fits snugly and sounds great.
Still hitting 14.5PSI on the 2.87" pulley and car feels great.
