Before I fully commit.....

I have a 2k Maxima and I'm about to invest some money in a supercharger. As of right now, here's what I think I'll need to get this thing up and running.

Matt's v1 kit, the sc, and all of those little hoses and whatnot, an intank Walbro 255lph pump, a cartech fuel management unit, and that is it.

Now, the only tuning option that I will have would be to play with the Cartech. Is this going to make my not run properly from lack of tuning options, or should this be enough?

Also, I know that my MAF is not up to par with more than 300hp or so. What is the part number for the Z32 MAF and where do I find one for cheap? Also, I am under the impression that this is a direct bolt on and does NOT require any reprogramming in order to be fully compatable with my car.

Please correct anything I missunderstand, or make suggestions!!!

Thanks everyone!

DF

Are you gonna upgrade your injectors? You need a boost gauge also. A Z32 maf with the pigtail should run you no more than 100 used.

It all really depends on what type of power your looking for, ie. pulley size. If you want to start off with a stock pulley to get going, then the cartech wont have to add much fuel. Once you start going down on the pulley size, (UP on boost), then the Cartech setting will have to be "tightened down" to add more fuel pressure. Then you can bleed air to get a good a/f reading up top, but that comes into effect if you get on a dyno for more presice settings. For now, leave that bleeder tightly closed.

I hope you understand a bit better

the bigger the pulley you add, the more boost you will be making, more boost means you have to add more fuel, your air/fuel ratio, so running a low boost to begin with then you wont have to add much fuel to get you started. then bigger pulley , bigger intectors i assume if needed

Its the smaller the pulley you get the more boost you will see not the bigger. You start out with a bigger pulley. Or am I wrong?

Fuel econ should not be of concern if you're boosting a car. The two don't go hand in hand.

I had 24-26 mpg when I wasn't boosting. This thread seems funny to me for some reason.

Most would start with the S trim or SQ. If its your first time boosting I would take it easy.
