guys he has a 5.5 gen which has vct. That requires him to keep the 5.5 gen timming cover in which there isn't a bracket available to bolt a vortech up to it(at least in the maxima)

Sorry buddy but i think you are out of luck

hey chris, u see a huge difference in power wit that 3.5 and SC? in the future i was just going to do the SC but the 3.5 might be a good idea too, if its worth it or would it be better to just use the extra time and money to make the SC more powerful?

Realistically SCing a VQ35 is not as practical as the VQ30 since there are no bolt on kits and you can get more than enough power NA. Going with a custom turbo kit would probably be easier than a custom SC anyway.

To put a Vortech SC on a VQ35 timing chain you would have to something crazy and completely custom. Not an easy thing to do.

You could possibly put a twin screw/roots type kit from the 350Z/G35 with a custom hood and some other modifications. Getting something with no A/W intercooler will make this easier. Look at the Stillen twin screw kit. Lowering the engine within the engine bay would also help with hood clearance.

Lowering the engine would also help with traction (lower center of gravity, that much harder to lift and transfer the weight to the rear on acceleration), because believe me, a 2k2 3.5 with say a 400$ Cobra/Lightning M112 off ebay would need all the help in the world when it comes to traction.

2k2 + Roots SC = TQ

WEll i'm not sure if anyone here has heard of SSR, but they have completed many turbo kits for different vehicles and they have done turbo kits for the 3.5 altima's. They had problems at first with the automatics cuz it wasnt holding between shifts from too much hp. but they are now finishing a kit this week for the maxima's and altis both auto and manual cars. They said it starts at around 350 wheel hs for about 4k. Just food for thought. for you auto's, they have a phantom grip at level 10 to help with traction, with that, new vb, and stall, tranny should hold up fine !
