n00b questions
I am one step away from picking up a v2 plate and a few needed accessories. I am capable of doing the installation and all or most of the fabrication work myself, so I will be piecing this together outside of stillen and matty. Albeit they both have provided the community alot of great craftsmanship.
There are only a few things I am concerned with. Either I can't find an accurate description or a detailed picture.
The v2 plates use two stand offs if I have understood my research. Are those just metal spacers and studs between engine and plate?
Is the OE water pump cover aluminum on an 96 I30?
Why is the extended thermostat housing needed? Are there any measurements of modifications needed? ie Length or Angle x Run from mounting plate?

With the V2 plate you will not need the Modified Thermostat Housing. Your stock thermostat housing works with that plate.
The Water pump cover is steel.

Let me rant: I Do NOT know how people can invest so much money into boost and still run the V2 plate. Thousands of Dollars for an un-reliable setup. Isnt Reliability the reason why we are all on this site to begin with ??? Am I wrong ?? Isnt that why were here ??
Aluminum Construction, Melted Pulleys, Shredded belts....I wouldnt wanna drive accross town in a Boosted Maxima running a V2 plate, but thats just me !!...
ok I'm done ranting.

matty- like I said, although I am not purchasing your plate I do appreciate the product you've put out for the community, and thank you for answering some of my questions. but without sounding like a cheapskate or that I am knocking the 4th gen- I cant see spending ~$2500 on my decade old car. this is just a summer project that I am trying to get done for ~$1200, and ultimately this will be my toy car when I get a new lease in the fall/early spring. in addition, my last toy was an 89 supra turbo- i am used to parts breaking inexplicably and more often.
