got an axle question

i see that there are some guys in here pushing some great numbers through their vq. what i am wondering is if you are still using the stock axles or if there are some after market ones that are stronger. i would like to try and get my car set up to leave on slicks with a 100 shot of spray and not break. i know that enough launches like that will break almost anything but i was just curius if there were stronger ones out there. thanks. also i'll be using a spec stage III clutch when i get ready to do all of this so i think that will hold. i hope anyways.

I believe Marty at Raxles.com does offer some beefier ones. Give him a ring. Hes a really friendly guy.

not even on a set of heated up slicks? then if those will hold, will a spec stage II I clutch hold that in your opinion? thanks for answering my questions. also neal congrats on your e.t. and trap. man your car hauls a$$

Ive launched on 14psi and a 75 shot many times with no problems yet. Its just a matter of time though. Im on stock axles and use slicks. Im as suprised as you that they havent broken yet. I will be giving it a try this weekend, 22psi and a 125 shot

I think requin6 or someone broke an axle in half on street tires at the track (S/C'ed). Generally they seem to hold fine though. Might just be luck of the draw.

uncdood also broke one, but they aren't doing it from power. wheelhop, shock, or just bad luck with a crappy axle is what's doing it. there are guys with a helluva lot more power than both ofthem have, launching way harder at the strip, who aren't breaking them. our axles are actually quite good.

my car is like a maxima with a 250shot and i haven't broken one. mardi's is like a maxima with a 400shot and he hasn't broken one. a 100 shot isn't even stressing them unless you are wheelhopping all over the place in which case you could break one if you're stock.

I just put rebuilt axles in mine 10 months ago and they are holding up awsome so far. Much tighter feel you could try to find a higher splined axle possibly.
