Blower Types..

Hey guys. Im just trying to see what kind of blowers everyone is using? Its seems that the S-Trim is the most popular. Is anyone using a T-Trim? How about a procharger? I really dont know why the reason the procharger isnt around, maybe i missed something.

Heres the spec's on the T-Trim:

VORTECH V-1 T-TRIM SUPERCHARGER
The supercharger of choice for street/strip vehicles with modified engines

* Straight cut spur gear
* Fits engines up to 825 horsepower
* Maximum airflow: 1,200 CFM *
* Maximum boost pressure: 26 PSI *
* Maximum impeller speed: 55,000 RPM
* Adiabatic efficiency: 73% **
* Available with straight or curved discharge and clockwise or counterclockwise rotation
* Click here for T-Trim models

and for comparison heres the S-Trim

VORTECH V-1 S-TRIM SUPERCHARGER
The industry standard supercharger

* Straight cut spur gear
* Fits engines up to 680 horsepower
* Maximum airflow: 1,000 CFM *
* Maximum boost pressure: 20 PSI *
* Maximum impeller speed: 50,000 RPM
* Adiabatic efficiency: 72% **
* Available with straight or curved discharge and clockwise or counterclockwise rotation
* Click here for S-Trim models

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on why other blowers arnt used. Thanks

Sean

A couple guys had T trims. No one on here has a procharger that I've ever heard of - reason being is that procharger doesn't make a kit for the maxima whereas stillen does - utilizing the vortech. Craig Mack did a roots setup and I remember JClaw was looking into one. To most, there's no point in doing a custom setup only to limit yourself by using a blower. Blowers are not as efficient as turbos simply enough. People generally choose superchargers over turbochargers because of the simplicity inherent in supercharger kits. If you decide to do something custom and off the beaten path you might as well do a custom turbo and not limit yourself with a blower unless you have a hardon for having maximum torque available immediately off idle like Craig Mack did in which case a roots would be good, or better yet a whipple or lysholm.

Here is a quick idle video of the T-trim I used to run on my car. Want to hear a loud blower check it out.

wooo thats awesome. Have any videos of it in action? or a quick rev? What kind of numbers was it making. Looks about the same setup i will be running. i already have i/y/e/mevi. Most everyone is running the S-Trim blower, correct?

What would be the advantage of the T-Trim? would be able to handle more boost?

there are so many better blowers that are on that site but we can't run them due to most of them spinning clockwise

unfortunately no, I could never get the tune right on the car so I just gave up on it and parted it out. The car did make 325whp at 10psi running 10:1 a/f pig rich with the MEVI not opening.

I will say the T-trim is the way to go if you are on a quest to make 400whp boost only with a SC'er application. The T-trim is quite a bit more torque also from when I was running the S-trim.

Jaime(JAY25) ran the T-trim on his car for a little while so he can give his point of view from running both blowers also.

I would say cause they price difference is around $500 more. I am trying to find a V-1 on ebay and send to vortech to upgrade it to a T-trim. If not I'll just buy one. Cheapest I found is $2350.00 vs $1800 for a V-2 SQ S-trim.

T-trim is a V1 blower, if you send the S-trim to get rebuilt to T-trim specs it will run right around $1000 total.

I was talking about not getting a v1 at all and just go with a v2. I dont see him saying that he has a v1 anywhere, unless I missed it.

Why do you prefer a T-trim over a V2?
thanks

Edit: ok gotcha, one out flows the other. didnt remember that.. I thought v2 =v1 T-trim in flow
