i know the v2 is supposedly a little bit more efficient than the v1, however i was just wondering what everyone elses opinion is? and also does anyone have any v1 and v2 sound clips? i have the v2 but was wondering how the v1 sounds and also want to make sure my v2 is not broken and sounds correct.. thx in advance

V2 has a higher gearing and uses quieter helical cut gears:
Vortech V-1 3.45=1
Vortech V-2SQ 3.61=1

I've had both. The V1 whistles like a ****. The V2 should be overall quiet. If it makes chirping, a "marbles in a can" noise, or excessive whistling, then something is wrong and a rebuild might be in order.

yea its making the marbles noise.. i talked to someone and he said he can sell me the rebuild kit for 150+shipping, just wondering how hard it is to do at home.

I prefer the V2. The V1 whistle was just too much for me. My maxima sounded like a WWII tank.

The v1 sound is badA$$! I used to get wtf is in there all the time. Especially when someone would hurry to meet me at a light to race. When they would pull up the look on there face quickly changed from racing a maxima to wtf is that??? When the light turned green I would show them what the noise was all about... VQ30-sc biatch....and im gone..

LOL THATS A FUNNY ONE! THE V1 IS A LOT LOUDER THEN THE V2 BUT PERSONALLY I LIKE IT. WHEN I HEARD THE V2 I WAS LIKE WOW YOU COULD HARDLY HEAR IT.

I don't have a video of a Maxima with a V1 but here is what a V1 S-trim sounds like on my 89 Mustang. They are very loud, probably should have got the V2 SQ.
