just make sure you pick the right sized turbo. because for me being auto its not that bad having this big turbo i have. but for a 5sp im not sure if it would be a good idea unless you'll be shifting with extended limiter or something, my develops full boost at 4500ish or towards 5k. on a 5sp everytime u let off u going to have to regain that boost.

question to all. If i add a front mount intercooler, i would obviously have to increase alot of more distance to the charge pipe. Would that hurt me even more as far as spool up time? or I would just have a pressure drop (which dostn matter cuz i can put up the boost again)?

^^ I suggest you make your own thread and get different opinions on proper turbo sizing.

Well given that you already have that long distance for the charge tubing, and that wrapping your exhaust brought the spool rpm down a bit, making the tubing longer to accomodate an IC for you to boost more would (in my own guestimations) leave you with a spool rpm probably around the same as it was before the wrapping. Which would be just fine

Oh no, it was nothing to do with hijacking. I didn't mean to come across like that. I just meant that it'd probably be better if you got more than one opinion on proper turbo sizing.

There are many different sizes to a t3/t4, it depends on what your looking for. Standard t3/t4's come with a to4e housing, and can be chosen from trims sizes of 50-60, these are the smaller t3/t4's. They also have bigger t3 hybrids, such as 60-1, and to4r which is a 67mm turbo. If your looking for good response/spool, and something in the 300-350whp range, any of the standard t3/t4's 50-60 trims would probably do just fine.

My post wasn't any less useful than yours was. I was merely letting him know he needed to be more specific. Have a bad day at work, or what?

I will be dynoing this Saturday. however I had to lower the fuel pressure a bit so that I had to make less corrections on my vafc2. Reason being is that since i had alot of correction (-15 max), it was advancing timing too much(not sure exactly where timing is at) and I was pinging on 3rd gear runs. I also tuned for a richer a/f. high 10's to 11 a/f to further prevent knock/ping. It somewhat feels slightly slower but maybe its in my head sometimes pulls hard sometimes dosnt feel as hard, i guess its the weather or something. Hopefully on the dyno i get more than my previous 230whp at 5psi. in theory I should be at around 255 to 265ish now at 7.5psi.

I have also ordered the Meth injection kit and should be here tomorrow or sat after the dyno. I will be running 100% meth and going to up the boost to 10psi.

Well as you already know, I had some problems with 10psi. didnt have the timing retard done properly was doing it based on throttle %. which means if im at 80% and theres no timing retard, and suddenly u go into 100% with -4 degree's, that sudden change just causes chaos, feels like engine just looses its rhythm. Also I heard some pinging as well. it was just bad overall. the previous night with you, u felt it and it was running fine. but during the day when i tried, all hell broke loose lol.

So i dropped it back down to 7psi, retarded 2degree's, got the meth spraying with 50% water estimated. and car is pulling VERY VERY nice, actually pulling harder than the 10psi i guess ecu was taking back too much timing according to my obd2 scanner.

Next step?
Well, i already ordered a larger injector for the Meth. I have a 360cc right now, I ordered a 760cc which should be more than enough for 10psi without really overdoing it. I already made a program for the 10psi. got timing to retard 4degree's. Still have somewhat the same afr tune as previous 10psi run's, but ill have to finetune that. after that, WE HITTING MOROSO!!!!! i wanna rip a hole deep in the 13's.

Ive been buying parts for this same project ever since you started this thread, ive read the entire thing atleast 3 times and I have a few questions before I dive in.

1. Where did you tap into for the oil feed line?
2.What did you use for support for the turbo and the entire length of the piping?
3. Is the radiator hose that you used for the bends holding up?

I also had the idea of welding a T4 flange to the muffler end of the piping that you cut off so if you ever need to swap back to normal, its just 4 bolts.

For the oil I used a T fitting and screwd it into the block where the stock oil pressure switch goes. then i put the switch on the T, and then the turbo's line into the other side of the T.

The turbo is being held up by the turbo's exhaust pipe, then pipe that comes out of the turbo and towards the stock tip location, theres two hangers or i think 3, one of them is really solid type of hanger that it alone holds everything up.

The heater hoses i used are still holding up, i havent touched the piping or the hoses since i 1st did the project. Only once to re tighten the clamps since they get loose over time.

good idea for the welding of the flange

where did you buy the check valve that is on your feed line? Do I need a specific one because of type of line (Braided Stainless Nitrous line)? A part number and where to get it would be great, i need to start this project asap.

Your tailpipe-turbo buddy is gonna need those slicks! If he hooks up, I'm guessing a 13.8.

Good luck to both of you.
