Wouldn't it make more sense to rotate the turbo 180º and have the charge piping go down the driver's side, then come back up on the passenger's side and crossover into the throttlebody, Stillen-style? Not knocking your work, just seems like it would get rid of a lot of harsh bends. Good work either way!

Ever get your idle steady and get the VIAS working properly?

No, the downpipe would be very difficult to make work. He could change the the way the charge piping is ran, but not the position of the turbo it self.

True. Didn't think about those considerations.

What about clocking the compressor housing 180º (so that the outlet faces the front of the car)? Wouldn't that put his charge piping facing almost the way it is now, except with the air going driver's side -> passenger's side instead of vice versa? I would need to see what kind of space there is in that area, but from the pictures it looks like there's room for that if you push that fuse box out of the way a bit.

Also, I never noticed this before, but, are your couplers color-coded? Looks like your "hot" air piping has red couplers and the "cold" air piping has blue couplers

On that compressor you can remove that metal piece that is around the compressor wheel. Its there for reduced noise but to me it seems like it would take away its anti-surge capabilities as well as the map width enhancement groove from what it looks like. There is a steel ring holding that in that you can remove with a screw driver. Here's what it would look like:

Here you can see the cover and clip in the top left corner:

I would wrap the pipes or the turbo itself. You dont want the charge pipe to get hot after it passes through the intercooler.

It wouldn't, it doesn't pass by anything hot after the intercooler.
