Interest in a Turbo Kit

Ok, I am just in the planning stage, but before I went ahead with the idea I just wanted to see if there was enough interest. I am still working out pricing and getting things ready, but I was planning on recreating all the piping from the PFI turbo kit so that people here will be able to build a turbo kit. Basically I was looking to make all the piping and sell that as a starter kit. I was just hoping to get some feedback from you guys. Is this something that people would be willing to buy or do you want a full turbo kit?

For starters, you could choose a better, more efficient piping design.

Right now I am planning on using the PFI kit as a starting point so it would be for the 3.0.

Ewuzuh... You are right about the PFI not the best and most efficient design. Keep in mind I am just using it as a starting point. I am shopping around to find a shop that can mandrel bend the pipes and give me a good price on everything. Any suggestions as to design and anything else are appreciated.

Sad to say, but Kevlo911 is right. Many orgers love to open there mouths, voice there opinions and state that there interested but when its all said and done and time to pay up no one follows through. Then the complaining will begin about pricing and G/D's.
Many of the Org members are just sooo cheap.

I know what you are saying. I am trying to decide if I should develop a piping kit and that leaves it up to the buyer to pick their turbo, blowoff valve, wastegate, etc. or if I should go ahead with a whole kit.

That is kind of the direction I want to go. I just started helping out a friend at his shop and he specializes in working on buick gnx's so all the tools are there to help work on this kit and he knows a lot about turbos. I am not trying to make a ton of money, just help some of the maxima owners out.

That should be the .org's motto

I support your idea to want to make a kit. If you can make the kit, test fit it, and have you guy ready to bend up new pipes when an order is placed it could work out.

I think that for those who have serious interest in turbo'ing their car, they either already bought the PFI kit, or made a kit of their own.

Well, I am planning on getting a PFI kit and seeing as I have to modify the pipes to fit (automatic) I figured that I might as well try to help the rest of the maxima owners and make a piping kit. I am going to go ahead and when I have the piping done I will have the shop make a second set and be ready if anyone wants to buy something like this.

I think that designing a piping kit would be your best route. Most people don't buy a turbo kit in its entirety, most piece together as time progresses.

On that note, it would also keep the cost down, which would lead to less people running for their lives when they see the price.

That is what I am going for. I know what its like trying to mod a car and not having a ton of money. I figure that if i can keep the price low than people won't freak out over the price.

I considered doing a pipe kit the same as mine but price for it being completely stainless steel and tig welded would not be cheap so I would not be able to fund it and when it comes down to putting up money they dont have it.

If you go with the kit, you should just do the piping since some people could just buy that if they have enough money and just sit on it until they have enough money for other parts.

Actually, I would be very interested the thing is, the only things I would really need is the exhaust to turbo piping, then the actual exhaust. Everything else I can really make on my own using piping from whereever and tons of silicone connectors.
