Folks, for those still interested in just getting the manifolds, I made some contact last night. There is an importer in Japan who was able to get me some diagrams, and all I had to do was confirm part numbers. Hopefully when I get home from classes this afternoon he'll have a cost estimate for me. These are specifically from the F50-chassis Cima:
(in the diagram, it's 14002, 14004, and 14008 btw)
I also made some contacts on a VQ30DET-specific forum and was told there was a few members that might have manifolds they'd be willing to part with.

Ok, so if the rear mani loops to the front, you would only have a single exhaust down pipe correct? Where would the placements of the new O2 sensors go? How would this car pass emissions in emissioned control locations?

I'd have to import a whole engine (VQ30DET) according to my friend in japan. These are are rare in the first place and the Japanese aren't too hot on parting out so dont get your hopes up Pat.
However, if you manage to talk to some guys on that forum you speak of, that would be a key place to get things. Just like here on maxima.org vs. junk-yards.

Why do you guys just want the manifolds so badly..
Hmm. Then again if we build our DE's it may be a better decision because we can readily get parts as where those Brooklyn guys are gonna have some trouble IMO.

Ok, here's what Dave has gotten me so far. He looked up numbers for both exhaust manifolds, the crossover pipe, intake manifolds, fuel injectors, gaskets for all these things, etc. He has to make some phone calls and will let me know within the next couple days what prices are going to be like, but assures me it will be cheaper than what any importer from Japan is asking.
I have some interesting things to note:
-The lower intake manifold is the same as any other VQ30DE (USDM, Middle Eastern, etc.).
-The upper intake manifold has two separate pieces.
-The fuel injectors are indeed different and the part numbers don't match anything from the USDM, meaning they are not A32 injectors, A33 injectors, any sort of VQ35 injectors, Z32 injectors, etc. They are a strictly JDM part. Dave was also unable to get the size of them according to part number.
-The crossover pipe is known as the "balance tube" according to Nissan.
-The gaskets to mate the exhaust manifolds to the heads are the same as US-spec.
-The gaskets for each end of the balance tube are different; one is an actual gasket and one is an o-ring that Nissan sells pretty much universally.
-Dave is unable to tell me based on part numbers which turbo is OEM equipment on this engine.
Part numbers are as follows, but be advised Dave is asking that you wait until he's made his phone calls to start calling him about it, and it will be easiest to go through him because he's already got his foot in the door with this:
14004-4P200 - rear manifold (passenger-side)
14006-4P200 - front manifold (driver-side)
14012-6P500 - crossover pipe ("balance tube")
14036-4P100 - gasket for balance tube
----o-ring gasket on other side 2069157E01
14415-4P200 - gasket for turbo inlet
14033-4P200 - gaskets between upper manifold halves
14010-4P200 - upper half of upper intake manifold
14010-4P205 - lower half of upper intake manifold
16600-4P201 - fuel injectors

I suppose it's not that bad if you can't indentify the injectors. We seem to have 3-5 options anyway.
AS far as the flange, maybe one of the turbo guys can identify this one. As it doesn't look like they cut the flange to put this one one. AR of 7.0 seems big?

You're right, injectors are no big deal.
The turbo? I have a hard time believing that even if Nissan were going for response over peak numbers that they would put a T25 or T28 on a 3.0L. My guess is, without knowing for sure, that's a T3 turbine flange. Which would make perfect sense for that larger turbo because it could be a T3/T4, which are available in fairly large sizes.
For reference, the front manifold and turbo mounting flange from the VQ30DET next to a standard T3 flange:
Anyone think I'm right, wrong?
If it is indeed a T3, then our options even with the stock manifolds using the stock flange are pretty much limitless turbo-wise.

Going a bit smaller turbo, seems like this might create opportunity for a clean twin turbo setup using two of the same manifolds flipped from front to rear. Looking at the setup, it would be close in a 3rd gen on a VG. But in you guy's cars, I'm curious.
Note: I believe single turbo is great for these cars and a dual turbo unneccessary. Regardless, the idea of opening up further possibilities is intriguing.

The VQ30DET's had a T3 style turbo known as a Nissan "N1" type. It was a 4 bolt with a T3 style exhaust inlet flange. The earlier models were ceramic turbines running about 7.5 psi but the later models were also outfitted with bigger intercoolers and are ball bearing with ceramic turbines and plastic wheels. They ran 11.5 psi stock.

I think you are right. The pics seems to indicate the smaller T28 style flange. Which is good as I believe it's the same bolt pattern as the T3, which means..... you get the picture already.

I wouldn't waste the time or money sourcing oem type down pipes. Any monkey in a garage (ie.. even me heh) could fab up the down pipe and the rest of the exhaust for way cheaper than sourcing the oem stuff.
The sourcing of the manifolds is good because this isn't particularly cheap or easy to get done custom. Plus the thick cast construction will insure good fit and less cracking.

Dave was able to get a hold of someone within Nissan to source the parts, and here goes:
So basically, the exhaust manifolds are cheap. Everything else (balance tube included) is expensive. Although by Nissan standards, he tells me, all these parts are dirt cheap (especially the injectors). Keep in mind, this is all BRAND NEW parts direct from Nissan.
My thoughts? Buy the exhaust manifolds and fab up your crossover pipe for half the price or less, and buy the gaskets you can't get from a local parts store. $92 each for the manifolds is DARN GOOD if you ask me (especially new!)

you hit it right on the nose. Thanks for the good info. the main issue for us is piping, with those exhaust manifolds, already factory made, a cross pipe would be cheap by any shop.
