Do you have a thermostat on the cooler ? you do not want the oil being too cool, this leads to sludge inside the engine.

My car with no oil cooler is about 205-210F on the highway under constant cruise. But I can get the temps up to 300 if I get on it alot - like road racing.

I finally got my Nismo (6 month backorder) T-Stat for 3.5L and I am hopping with the reduced engine coolant temps- the oil temps will dip down into lower 200s under high RPM stress road racing puts on the motor.

Yeah 68*C which is 154.4*F.

Courtesy Nissan lists em for 150 bux, and I don't like shopping with em. Especially since I know how much em T-Stats really cost. So I waited.

I was in the same boat since they seem to be semi-shady, especially with Nismo products.

I'm still thinking of getting one though. Just semi-worried about the car not getting to operating temp soon enough. Ah well, if that is the case, I'll just switch it every May/October.

Good, unused place to get cool air. Putting it up front means you are more than likely blocking something like the radiator or AC condenser, also.

How much extra oil is needed for that setup? Seems like oil changes should be fun, trying to get all of the oil out of those lines...

Explain your logic? Turbo system is in the rear, oil system goes to the rear. How is the cooler too far away?

I hope you have a return pump or the engine may not like it.

I wonder how much air flow it really sees on that thing.

Did you run that cooler with rubber hoses under your car? That is another bad idea.

In running a turbo, you can see a pressure drop in the gauge. So you woulod know it if there was one. ( ive experienced it when I was working the bugs out, I was leaking oit from the return line.)
I drive 2hours round trip for work 100 miles total a day. at 3500 miles thus far, the oil has NOT changed color. looks like its working to me.
