Walbro or No?

Hey Guys,

I'm going to be installing my S/C pretty soon, and I'm just starting to get the last things together.

Vortech V2 with Matty's Plate kit
Blitz BOV
"Stillen Kit" in-line fuel pump
AEM FPR
BEGI FMU

I'll be tuning with:
Innovate LM-1
Innovate LMA-3
Innovate XD-16
Apexi NEO

My question is:
I have 3 pulleys - "Stillen Kit" 3.6", 3.3", and 3.125"
The 3.125" is currently on the V2, and I wanted to go with the 3.33"
When everything showed up, the 3.33" was pretty chewed up, so it won't be going on there.
If I stay with the 3.125" pulley, will the stock fuel pump + In-line pump handle the load, or should I go with a Walbro?
If I do go with the Walbro (I don't want to upgrade my injectors right now), I guess that I should go with the 255?
I've seen different "Models" of the 255, which one is the right one for us?

I'll be running a Boost + FP + A/F gauge.
Does anyone have any suggestions for others?
I don't want too many, but I'd like to have all of the necessities.
I figure that I can see voltage on the NEO if I want to, and the oil temp has the stock "dummy gauge".
Does anyone think that I should get a Water Temp, or Oil Pressure gauge?

Any comments / opinions would be appreciated.

I would just ditch the in-line and get the 255hp walbro. It's a GSS341 that you want

Is there a well known spot to get them at a reasonable price?

Or is it "Like $80 on ebay".

Probably the second one right?

Yup. Ebay it.

IMO, the T-rex FP will work just fine too. The Walbro has been reported to be "noisy" by some people here on the org. You'll also have to swap the Walbro strainer for the OEM during installation. See link for an explanation.

Oh, to answer your other question...... the stock FP + the T-rex can supply enough fuel for the 3.125 pulley no problem. The limiting reagent is your stock injectors.... that's what you'll have to start worrying about.

As for the gauges, you've got the mandatories covered IMO.

Hey thanks,

I've actually come across your post for the strainer quick fix before, pretty good observation.

I'll read up on this a bit, but is the T-rex an in-line?
"the stock FP + the T-rex can supply enough fuel for the 3.125 pulley no problem."

Is there a P/N for the T-Rex, or are they universal?

Thanks, and I'm off to search about these.....

Is the T-rex the pump that's included in the "Stillen Kit"?
If so, I already have this (Just didn't know the name of it).

I guess that I answered my own question.

And now that I go back and read your Post #4, it seems that you were pointing me that way to begin with. Just reading too fast.

Plus it's 12:30am here, I should really be in bed.

Thanks for the info. I'll run my FP up near 100psi just like you and let you know what gives...j/k.....

I looked around the .org a bit after I saw your post.

Apparently the GSS341 is just the 255
While the GSS342 is the 255HP

Just letting you know, for interest sake.

Correct. I believe the GSS342 (255HP) is the better choice and what you should strive to get.

^^From this link.....

Pump information, voltage at 13.2v
GSS-341 and GSS-342
PSI......GPH.......LPH.......AMPS
0..........86.........325.......5
20........79.........299.......6.1
50.........65.........246.......8.5
70.........57.........215.......10.2
100.......34.........128.......13.2
120.......12.........45.......15.5

For comparison's sake.........At 70psi, the T-rex flows 50gph per Vortech's website

It lists the the fuel pumps to be the same.. Now I am confused.
