How much boost can the JWT SC program + 370s handle w/o an fmu?

How much boost can the JWT SC program + 370s handle w/o an fmu?

I ask because when I searched, I dug up an old thread in which Requin (IIR) tried to run a 2.87 in pulley on a v1 with this setup and had problems. It seemed like he may have had detonation near red line, but the culprit was never IDed in the thread.

Does this fuel/management setup provide enough fuel for 14psi? Have many run the JWT program with 550s with much success? (I also dug up some disheartening threads about this setup.)

In short, I hope to run around 14psi on my v1, and I would like to rely on the JWT program (plus maybe an SAFC) if possible. I want to avoid using an FMU and want to stay away from the EU too.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

The program should be ok until you max out either the MAF or injectors. Otherwise with the right injectors/maf it should be good until they reach their respective flow limits.

Right. I suppose another way I could have stated my question is "with the JWT SC program and 370s with no FMU, at what boost levels (generally speaking) will the injectors reach their limit?" It is understood that the injectors will be the limiting factor here (because the z32 MAF would be used).

vqmonster, I have a Vortech FMU.

Any of you OGs know what was going on with Requin back then? Was it because JWT didn't retard timing enough? Were the injectors at their limit?

Iansw is running that exact setup on his Max with no issues.

Z32 Maf, injectors, JWT ECU, 2.87 pulley.

Sweet. That's good to hear! Thanks for the info.

mtrai760, do you know where I can find a dyno chart of his setup? I'd like to see what his A/F looks like, and I tried his link in the sticky, but it's dead.

I don't know where can find his chart, but his peak HP was around 340whp if my memory is correct.

Looks like his website is down right now. He had the dyno posted at http://www.cyberhub.net/dyno/Dyno042906a.JPG but it is not coming up. I know he doesn't come on here anymore (G37 fan club) but I'll email him and ask him to re-host it. He listed it at 350hp and 275ft/lbs torque.

Thanks for emailing him. I'd really like to be able to see the chart itself, because I'm most interested in seeing how his A/F looks.

I sent him an email, it will probably be tonight or tomorrow before he can get to it, I know he is busy working.

yeah i ran the JWT / 370cc / 2.87 for a little bit before i took it off due to the strange noises i was getting at 6500+ rpms. i can only suspect that it was detonation because as soon as i put the 3.125 back on there was no trouble. only other thing i could possibly attribute the noise to would be belt slip.
