Well first of all, I don't know much about turbos but I am slowly learning in my free time. I like the idea of doing a Rear Mount Turbo on my 5.5 Gen, but how about moving it right behind the y-pipe ? I took some pictures today of the underbody to maybe gather ideas for later.




Since nobody did this yet I assume its a bad idea but I figure I'd ask.

is ground clearance the issue here? temperature ? Shine some light please

Actually someone is planning on doing this. Mid mount turbo. The biggest concern is a lack of room. Remember you have to fit a decently sized turbo in there and you do NOT want it grounding out.
