This is interesting... I have the Tail 38mm 10lbs spring with Greddy Profec B - Spec 2 Electronic Boost Control. My boost control is set at 10psi and I spike to 12psi... So I would like to know the anwer to your question also...
Are you spiking or creeping?
Boost Creep:
Boost creep is rising boost due to not enough exhaust bypassing the housing. For example, you're set for 13 psi, and when you floor it, you get a quick rise to 13 or 14 psi. But then as rpm's climb, the boost creeps higher and higher: 14, 15, 16, 17, etc. Enlargening the wastegate hole is one way to cure it...
Boost spike:
Spiking is when your wastegate hole is large enough, but your actuator can is taking too long to fill with compressed air, so you *temporarily* overshoot your boost level. Example: you're set for 13 psi, and when you floor it it quickly rises to 16 psi, but then gradually drops downward towards 13 psi again.
I have one of my friends coming by this weekend to help me adjust my controller. I'm not to familar with the unit, being that I bought the car with the turbo and everything in it.. But I think the Greddy boost controller can retard or knock the boost down and also you can set the the gain to control the way the turbo kicks in...

I have it all set to 0 on everything, I can floor it and it will go to now nothing quick just goes past the 10psi i have it set to and the warning light will not ever go off or flash red. I don't know what my problem is, I was told that a lower waste gate spring will work.
