put the turbo where the battery is located and run piping accordingly. feed and downpipe. You may want to enlist the help of someone who has turbo charged a car before to help measure and run piping efficiently... if you for sure want to t/c the car

Hummmm thats wasn't the question though... I just wanted to know how to mount the turbo. Do I make a mount, or just let the weight of the turbo sit on the exhaust?

You mean support the turbo. The turbo will need to be supported, it will be a lot of strain on the exhaust to have a 45lbs+ weight on it at one point. There are several ways of doing this depending on the turbo your using, and which way it will be physically seated.

Basically what MDeezy is nicely saying, you're not giving enough information for us to tell you how you could mount the turbo in that location.

It will differ bet'n the particular turbo you use, which way the inlets and outlets are clocked, what the exact position of the turbo will be relative to some good solid mounting points in the area, etc..... Cant really help you much, you have to have more imagination than that come on, lol. Turbo'ing a maxima is a custom job after all, so really its all up to you. Dont take it as an insult because I dont mean it that way if thats how it comes across, but if you cant figure out something like "how to mount the turbo", perhaps you should delay the turbo install a few months to give yourself some time to do more research and look at simple pictures...

the transmission has some spare bolt holes, make a braket there. you can also make a bracket to using one of the bolts for the tranny mount. fist create the braket and secure the turbo, create the feed and return lines. then you can go to the exhaust shop and create the piping. you can also use the rear mount set up, imo it is not as effecient but it works.

yes eddie, lol eddie you have to add more timing to the motor. at 9 psi you should making more hp than that. injectors will just make it run lean, and the leaner you will make more power. a 3.5 with enought timing shoulf make 370 with like 5-6 psi. ****** i would call all you aout.lol lol if i had my car still, lol we can always race the gn, nut not highway, 1/4 mile.

I am looking for a 2003 6 spd to buy, waiting for a good deal though, then i might try a rear mounted turbo, but try to set it up closer to the y pipe some how. i dont remember how much spcae is under there ....

Look who decides to show up for his "once a year post on the org"? LOL

I dont want more timing. Im GLAD that Im boosting my 3.5 on the 3.0 ECU for the fact I have less ign timing. That's exactly how more than half of the dummies on my350z.com blow their engines when they go boost w/o taking back timing. 3.5 stock run alot of timing stock and here they come turning up the boost, blow the engine, then start saying the 3.5 is weak [cus they dont want to admit that some of them are just idiots that didnt think of the need to take back timing].

At 9psi I DO make more power than what the dyno shows, my injectors maxed out at 374whp, look at the graph, that sucka SHOULD have kept going slightly passed 400whp with that curve. That's taking into account that I dont have my cams set for the "optimal" top end flow. I think power is right where it should be once I change injectors, add meth.... and change my clutch and tranny yea it finally went, LOL. How often did YOU blow your tranny Mr. 393whp/ 12.4s full trim?????

d1max2nv, follow this man's advice, lol. He knows wat he's talkin about (for the most part )

I spent more time that I probably should on my350z, and timing has been a killer for most. Timing is a tricky thing, get it right and you'll really let loose some good power, get it wrong and could be the death of the motor. Not to mention having timing right on that threshold can be nerve wrecking, get a boost spike and if your tune is already on a fine line it can cause problems.

3.5 hyrbid is great for boost due to the retarted timing, without something to monitor knock, its better to stay on the safe side.

Also not to mention we dont have the VTC which helps those with the full 3.5 setup get more power.

i am gladd your the big man in town now Eddie. You know your stuff. Actually know more about the vq's than me. Yes timing is not good for boosted engines and thats y they blow. i havent seen the graph, but y dont you call me next time you dyno man. what up with that.lol car had more than a12.4 in guaranteed with 104 and about 2-3 more psi , i would have guessed 450 whp and perhaps 11.99's ,, full trim yes.lol

has anyone researched if the vtc causes more detonation? dude i ran out of alcohol a crap load of times and pinged like a madd man , and i never blew a single engine. something to think about. theres a guy selling a 95 already with a 3.5 swapp, but the car is pretty messed up looking.???

tranny, well a few times, but truly blown only once at the track, i mean blown to pieces, dangerous man, pressure plate had 3 good bolts left on it.
yeah man clutch and always keep spare tranny. atleast your set up is not a mission to drop the tranny.

Back to this guys question, simply choose the most solid moving place that can support the brackets and weight of the turbo, I chose the transmission, holds it well and moves with the rest of it so to keep it stable and not crack any pipes, even though with my engine shock and poly bushings there isn't much movement!
