i already know the work involved in turbo ing a car. My dad is mechanic and has a WRX i know they arent the same car but we will be able to do it. Im just trying to find out what kind of car i could get a turbo off of or where i could get a used one for cheap.

Hate to break it to you but 1g is nowhere near what you will need to spend for a turbo setup, not even a supercharger setup. Its just not gona happen even if you use used parts. When turboing a non-turbo car you cant cut corners.

To think that it can be done for $1,000.00 shows that you need to research this topic a little more.

A RMT can be done for about 1500 if you get the turbo free...........Which is doing able if you get it off a totaled Diesel.

man i wish there was a "Best Of..." section on the .org

anyways, be prepared to spend TONS of hours researching stuff. need to buy a premium account to search properly. it is worth it in the end, cuz when the project is said and done, you will be comfortable to work on most cars you buy

My RMT setup was for about 1,600. but judging by the 1st post you going to need a hell of alot of reading to do before getting into it. The cheapst power adder is ofcourse nitrous, so you might want to consider that. 500 bucks and ur good for a basic nitrous setup.
