3.0 no more........3.5 soon come

I can not see from the pic but did you drill a hole in the rear timing cover to allow oil to pass thur. The one on the front somewhat lines up but the rear one does not, if you look at the 3.5 inner cover you'll see what I am talking about. It's near the timing marks by the vtc niods

^ he's talking bout these 2 holes from the 3.5 ITC
see on the 3.0 ITC they done exactly line up perfectly, it's not something that has to be done but it's something that you can do to prevent a little oil leak.

yes, I think I'll leave it at 5psi until I spend some $$ for a real ECU

btw the people on your block must hate you lol

lol, yes, FMU and afc
people on the block dont really complain except for the muscle car guy up the block that starts his 9 second up duster with open headers and drives it around the block like that, he got mad at me one day for making too much noise and was bashing imports and blah blah......

^ Bought the feed and downpipe from Vasily, my friend Tesh did the 3in exhaust, I did all the intercooler piping.
I plan to do some tidying up but the hoses going across are the trottle cable, vacum for BOV, and Meth line.
My FPR, Dampener, and FMU vacum lines can use a little reworking......I guess I'll do it, lol

Man that engine looks clean compared to how mine was or still is lol. i got a wild mess of wires.
btw what kind of meth line are you using? i am looking to replace mine with stronger lines because i have had mine crack int he past (i am using normal clear water lines from home depot)

^ I'm using the line that came with the AEM kit. Its black plastic.
My AEM progressive controller's lowest "on" setting is 5psi and lowest full spray setting is 9psi, since Im only running 5psi I wonder if the meth is going to come on. I just turned both of them down all the way and I detuned from dual nozzle back to single for now.
Getting legit plates today so I will be street tuning tonight.

I wish we would have gotten to see what that 3.0 would have been capable of. Get some video of that thang tonight if you can. I want me a meth kit. I know you won't be on it but I'll be driving home on the 495 tonight. Those holes and bumps...

The right axis says AFR, yes, but the people at Dyno Dynamics (assuming based on the chart ) must have not have the wideband butt-probe tailpipe sniffer hooked up.

Damn Bishnu, your determination is inspiring.
Suprised nobody picked up on the fact that we used 3.5 HR headgaskets on a 3.0!! No easy feat, especially since it was a de-k. I think I spent 3 days comparing headgaskets, blocks, and FSM diagrams. In the end all that was required was the usual block coolant passage mod detailed on JWT's site, and welding the de-k's secondary thermostat closed.
Now I know why you never got back to me about those questions, don't feel stupid, stuff like that happens all the time. I once spiked close to 30 psi for 1/2 second on a 2g DSM, and I didn't even have a friend to blame! Luckily nothing blew.
I know you and everybody else (myself included) wishes we put rods & pistons in it, but there is always going to be a weakest link, I'm still confident that with a perfect tune & no issues or accidents this motor would have held 500 @ the wheels all day long.

^ yes it would have.
The headwork you did on that motor was very nice. Everything matched perfectly.
I reused the 3.0 DEK coolant log on the vq35 I put in and am running evans waterless NPG coolant this time around. I came up with a neat idea to block off the coolant passage on the secondary thermostat. I took out the thermostat and used a gasket with a block plate I made.

This swap looks like it was done by professionals, good job on making it work on such a short time frame. The videos and the dyno numbers look good!
Kevin is the man when you need some serious good work done!

^Thanks man, originally I was not going to even take the car to the dyno meet. However I gave myself a deadline and made it happen. First 3.5 swap for me too, happy about getting that done.
Agreed that Kevin is the man to go to and he does work at great prices too.
