Successful MAF removal for MAP on the EU..... ANYONE?

So I have gone over Dandymax's writeup on the EU pdf for removing the maf, looks like a good amount of time required but doable. Has anyone successfully removed their MAF using the EU? (I am not refering to clamping it, i mean completely eliminate it)

Negative, i have not attempted it yet. it will take alot of fine tuning and getting it to work, specially with 15lb of boost lol. Eventually i'll try. But if you wanna try it yourself Dandymax tells you how to do it on the EU writeup.

Just so everyone knows.

The MAF can only be removed on a MANUAL. It cannot be done on an automatic because it will but the car in fail safe mode.

I have not tried it since I do not have a manual.

That has to be incorrect, what difference does it make if its auto or manual? If done properly the ECU wont even know the maf is removed. So that is false my friend.

Only way I can see it not working with the auto is if the MAF signal is somehow related to shift points. Which I dont think it is.

Its not, but even if the MAF is 100% related to the auto, if you do the removal properly the ECU nor the TCM will know the MAF is removed.

Furbiss: just read over dandymax's writeup on the maf removal and you'll understand.

I hope you can get it to work. From what Nissan told me, the transmission does need the maf signal and a few others like TPS to work properly.

Also, I found out from Greddy that the VQ30DET uses the same N62 (Z32) MAF. This could be the reason some are having starting issue when they start using the EU.

Let me know how it goes since I want to take mine off too.

Ill make a thread once i do it, might not be anytime soon though.

BTW I wouldn't trust too much on things Nissan dealers say, you'd be surprise how much "most" of them lack in knowledge.

My dad manages a nissan dealership and other than my friend he just recently hired, all his mechanics/sales people are either not that bright, or think they know everything. When my dad told them that I swapped my i30 to 5 speed they said it was impossible...

Not trynna sound cocky or anything but the majority of us somewhat knowledgeable members on here are more experienced and mechanically educated than actual certified tech's. I have come across people that went to school for this stuff and had no clue wtf i was talking about lol, not even like swapping n ****, just random mechanics stuff.

Back to maf removal... Lol. Anyone got a head start or a base map I can wok off of. I'm having ll sorts I issues with maxi right now. Well misfire to be exact. If I can take out the MAF then I can eliminate some of the issues.

from my understanding. you have to data log a idle, cruising, WOT reading, open up the tap for airflow i think(dont feel like looking up the exact name of it but its MAF adjustments) pretty much copy those voltage readings and create a idle, cruising and WOT map for the MAP.

long story short, the ECU will never know the MAF is gone, which means youll have to simulate the readings from the MAF to the pressure sensor map.
