Soaked Plugs

Never really had a huge starting issue till the other night. Not sure what the issue was didn't turn over the first few cranks, then got worse there-after

I pulled one of the plugs after a bit more cranking and it was soaked. I didn't have time to change out the plugs yet but that will def cause the car NOT to start right?

Like I said, I haven't had an issue like this since I did the EU. Hopefully its not something major and the plugs is the issue

What u guys think

Matt

Maybe about 10k on them. Really not sure why the car didn't start the first time I cranked. A little concerning. I'm gonna try to crank it later..if no go, then I'm gonna change out the plugs. I really know if a plug is soaked, will the car start

Dont think the car will start with soaked plugs. Have you done anything different recently? before turning off the car the last time

Well some days it will act weird if I start it cold and turn it off right without warming It up. I did that and its been sitting for over two weeks since I've been on vacation.

I think the plugs were on their way out

I would suggest change the plugs. Could be that they are done already.

Changing or cleaning the plugs may help short term but you will have this problem again. Sounds like the car is dumping a crap load of fuel upon start, you need to figure out what is causing that problem

Maybe a injector is leaking, sticking or your fpr is taking a crap and leaking fuel pass the diaphram

To be honest with you, the car has been running really good lately. Only really noticed a starting problem the last few times I started my car...then I parked it and got home from vacation and this. It may just be that the plugs are old, time wise. Mileage they arent really old but I dont really drive the car that much.

I let the car sit for 24 hours and tried turning it over. It just cranks and cranks with not even a lick of spark. Will be chaning the plugs tomorrow and see if that fixes it. No idea what else it could be. I havent even messed with anything in a while

Just pulled all the plugs....they are clean but were all wet. Has to be the issue.

I think these have been in my car longer since I wanted to change them before I moved and that was about a year and a half ago. Gotta be more then 10k miles

Well the injectors were new from Deachwerks when I got them. The FPR is definetly a possibility considering it is old, and I wasnt really sure of the condition when I first bought it. Could they be rebuilt, or do I need a new one?? What are the symptoms of a bad one ??

Well I changed the plugs, no go

Just cranks and cranks and doesnt turn over. I dont wanna crank too much cause I dont wanna ruin this set of plugs. Ive never had this issue before....

What are the symptoms of a bad FPR ?? What else could it be ??

try checking to see if the fuel psi is holding correctly and your fuel psi when the key is at the on position. Also pull the vac line off the afpr and see if there is any fuel leaking out

Then I would double check your injector plugs and connections, start the car get a scope or screwdriver and listen to them

Crank sensors dirty.

On a side note, you changed your front end again? Painting entire car grey?

I was having these same starting issues, I'll check out that sensor as well. However, I am having run on issues with the motor as well, runs for a few seconds after the key is off on ocassion so I think there's something else going on.

Well I guess it wasnt much of a fix. Went to start it today and same thing, just cranks and cranks and just doesnt wanna turn over.

What should I focus on now ? Could my Walbro be dieing or on its way out ? FPR ?

Well I got it started again after a few things:

1) Took the crank sensor out, and right at the plug, both wires are freyed down to the metal...I repositioned that but its too hard to get a good peice of tape on since its so close to the plug

2) Re-Set the engine light

Started right up.

I guess I need a new harness for that plug (crank sensor)
