MEVI activation with SC

This question has probably been asked a few times but I'm getting conflicting answers and I'd like to clarify with a few of the boffins in here...

My MEVI is set to activate at 5,300 rpm but when it activates, my boost drops. I figure, the MEVI feature with boost is completely useless and I would be better off just leaving it off. Anything that drops the manifold pressure during boost has got to be counter-productive right?

Your thoughts???.. ...

your have it set too high, try with it around 48-4900rpms

but the best way to find out is put it on a dyno do a pull with it closed and another with it tied open and it the activation point where they intersec on the graph

I still don't see how a manifold that was designed for a naturally aspirated engine can benefit a boosted one. In understanding how a mevi works, applying the same principals just doesn't make sense... As far as any boosted engine goes it seems that the shorter the intake path the better. The vq30det has a very short intake manifold. So how does lengthening it or adding more volume to compress help to achieve more power?

Thats weird that your loosing boosts, my boost climbs up steadily with the MEVI.

then dyno with a usim than with a mevi and you'll see

the lid on your mevi maybe leaking under boost

I had a thought... my boost gauge is attached to the same line as the mevi vac can and actuator. This I suppose could throw the readings off....
