Another Almost Boosted 3.0
Le motor de Tres Punto Cinco es muy interesante. Yes i went from French to Spanish for a good reason. You know, you absolutely know you are dealing with a very high quality product.....

Designed by the Japanese, improved by the French, assembled by Mexicans, now being modified by a simpleton.....What can possibly go wrong??? Untied nations car has been born.
Anyway got the 3.5 almost completely turn down just gotta take off the upper oil pan. I couldnt find my socket to get the oil cooler off so i just left it on there for now:

hardest part:

Gotta take my old motor out now and move the timing equipment over then pop the whole thing back in, then Pray.

I forgot to update this thread, but this happened months ago:
Swap went smoothly and the car fired up and purred the first time i turned the key. The only issues i had was 1 the throttle body. That throttle body is hell. Its not getting the TPS on its getting it to rotate in the correct direction. I have given up on it for now and im going back to the 1st gen 3.5 manifold so i can have my TPS and etc. Next was the turbo, leaking oil, smoking blah blah blah. So i bought a brand new turbo a Turbonetics 62-1. So that should be the end of that. It threw 2 codes, 1 was for the missing tps, the 2nd was an o2 code detecting high fuel pressure, because i bumped my FP up to 50psi playing around. But all is good mechanically thank god, I cant remember the last time i COMFORTABLE could say that.
Last but not least this car is under going a transformation. Otherwise i would be driving it. But here are some of the things that have found there way onto this car:

I dont think i have seen any maxima or I30 with this:

Even more stuff that is here i dont have pics of it currently but:

I would post pics of more but it will take up too much time and space(5th gen rear seats, all the black interior pieces, painting, all the wrapping, LEDs). When you start to pull this car a part you really notice the attention to detail from the factory its impressive. The car should be done with in a month, I am a college student and im doing everything by myself so i just work when i have time and i have been working pretty steadily on it. The only thing that has given me trouble is that throttle body. I'll do the exterior in the spring. That will be finally fitting my Nismo lip, stillen sides and hopefully i can find a diffuser, fixing my fender, re-do my retrofit and paint.

just installed it today, aside from a few forgetful issues its running pretty good considering. Needs to be adjusted for the cams and turbo badly. Have to re-adjust my idle aswell.
Its running good now. Getting ready to re-add the emanage to the harness so i can get the E-01 working at full capacity. But i do have a few concerns
Again Heat. The first heat concern i had was the coolant log area where all the sensors are. Fixed that with a DEI heat sleeve. moving components off of the exhuast aswell, i found a fuel line that was almost resting on the exhuast.....so yea that had to be moved immediately.
The feedpipe is the most problematic on the whole setup. I have triple wrapped the pipe next to the starter and it is still too hot to touch when the car is at 2000 rpm. This car has a 7200rpm redline its just not going to work. What can i do about either moving some of the lines for the starter or possible getting a smaller starter? i have heat wrapped the lines for the starter i dont think they will ever start to melt again but then again, i was also thinking about taking 2 Aftermarket ground wires and running them around the feedpipe so the main power wire is not so close to it but i dont know if they will be strong enough to crank the car.
Then there is the ABS. I dunno what temps it can withstand probably a lot higher than those wires but it still rest on the exhuast i have tried a few things to move it but to no real success I need to really push it up against the strut tower to get it off the exhuast or find something that makes the feedpipe cool to the touch.
All of this stuff i must do before i even think about driving off down the road. possible shorts that can start fires and losing brakes is not something im going to be excited about.

Pulled the airbag light bulb from the back of the cluster, we dont need no stinkin' airbags.
Going for my first drive today with nistune to see how its like i will report back. So far the car has been acting like its NA so its been great.
I have mine unbolted but i can never get it where i would like it What i was doing before was zip tying it to the brake MC so it would pull the ABS module up and away from the manifold but i want to do something more solid than zip ties.
How are your brakes holding up and do you have a pic of how close it sits to the feedpipe?

the first turbo "4.7 gen" is almost complete, did moved and secured everything i thought would be a potential problem just have some vac leaks to track down and my seats need to be redone as they dont fit thanks to the brilliant work of the shop i took them too....so very soon i will be terrorizing......my neighbors with my ultra loud exhuast.

still following any more updates ?
