what kind of difference are you trying to see? I think the point of clamping the signal is so you can see over the max potential of the stock maf without upgrading to a z32 q45 ect....but your not going to gain any power if that's what you think

im not looking for a power gain I was just curious.. I have a 5.5gen which I think as the same voltage as the z32.. my issue is I would be driving a/f is fine then all of a sudden spike lean, I would tap the gas and it goes back to normal...

Clamping would only stop you from seeing over a certain voltage/maxing out, sounds like your maf might be on it's way out. FWIW my maf is clamped at 3.40 volts but I'm A32.

I was under the impression that once the MAF was maxed out, you could still tune beyond that, but there wouldn't be any compensations for temperature and humidity/pressure, as the ECU would see one constant voltage. I could be wrong.

What is the purpose of clamping the MAF?

From my experience it prevents your injectors from locking to fully open when the maf sees max voltage, I would hit high 9's in the afr range with 370cc, so I clamped it to hit 11. You are correct, you can still tune past the max of the maf as long as you have enough fuel for it.
