Does anyone know how much HP a 3.0 maxima can handle with stock internals? If you have a turbo maxima how much psi are you running with stock internals and how much power are you making? Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Depending on your engine and tune, you can make around 450-500hp on stock internals; this is the high end. More than likely, you will end up in the 350-400 range. These are all general, what you can expect will be different since we have no idea how your motor was maintained and how it runs now.


I run 8psi on the stock 30, but I have seen people run 14-16psi on them. I will run about 10-12psi by the end of the summer.

 

what he said. there is a topic on this exact subject in this forum within the last year, i specifically remember posting in it.

 

We dont really know, we do know the head gasket, and ring lands are the first things to go. However those cases are most likely due to tune. If head bolts and head gasket are upgraded, who knows how much power it can really make, on a very good reliable and safe tune, probably over 500

 

With a proper tune, you can get A LOT of power. However, its not easy to get a proper tune. Research local performance shops in your area and read what people have said about them. Then pick what one has the best reviews and on that does a lot of Nissans

 

its all in the tune.

 

I'd have to agree with everyone else...

My car was stock with 181,000mi when I put the turbo setup on.. .and I wouned the engine at 245,000

All that happend to mine is I broke the ring lands... Started using oil. Never made any noises... compression was down.

With a GOOD forged piston you'd have one hell of a engine.

Mine is almost back on the road... Doing body work to repair the rust and re-paint and back to getting 25-7mpg in town and 31highway and running 13's in the 1/4mi.
Fun fun daily driver.

Look in the FI classifieds for a used supercharger kit.
If you're serious about FI, start by reading all the stickies in this forum.
HP gain depends on what pulley you use.
