Really wanted to finish the project but I already had a turbo 4.5gen and breaking atleast one or not two trannys per year is not fun. Also I can build the Malibu for almost the same cost but make around 550-600hp and 500tq no problem.

my personal opinion is the stress from hard launches and banging gears causes the transmission case to flex. This flex makes things fall out of alignment and break. The only solutions I found were to baby the car which is no fun or that par gears and additional bracing to the trans.

Just look at muscle cars they add diff and main cap supports, run beefer drum and sprag in the trans. Once I added the cost to do it right I found that i could built a car for the same price make more power with less problems
