Yea it did, I didn't want to use a piggy back, then one of the org. member mentions something about nistune and from there it just kinda took off as of today it's been great. the only grip i have is that one of the day's I was trying to burn the tune it didn't want to , had to restart the program and shut off and turn on the car then it burned it no prob.

Sorry guys but I have not done much more yet. I am in the process of changes a few things. Once I finish, I will be heading to the dyno to get some tuning done. Also busy since I will be moving to DC by mid October.

Sounds like a sweet deal for a plug and play standalone. I got a quote for 1200 bucks to have my SC max tuned in a shop Nistune recommended here in NJ. So unless your tunning yourself prepare to drop dough to have it professionally tuned.

Cost of living in NM vs NJ is much different.
Having my Emanage setup tuned costs me 650 here in TX.
Other factors come into play as well in regards to the tuners reputation and even your setup.

Yea I know cost of living is different, but 1200 for a tune is ridiculous. I have a friend that tuned his max in Cali, for about 550 and cost over there is pretty expensive. Just my .02

Yea when the car is cold it starts right up but after the car is warmed up and you go to start it....it takes a long crank to get it started and its not just the maxima ecu from jwt either. And I've had a lot of jwt ecu from jwt and they all did this I remember 1 that didn't do this but it sucked....do a Google search on jwt ecu hard start and see what you find

I have not had any issues with the board yet, the only issue I have right now is a warm hard start but that is because I have not messed with those maps.

I only had a cold start issue but never got around to tuning the car before my accident. Most likely would have been fixed after tuning.

Any updates..? Im looking on getting rid of my EMU.

Can Nistune install the boards in a 97 ECU? or do I need a 95/96 ECU?

So are we ablel to delete ecu codes? I read earlier in the thread we could not.

Im not clear on how the wideband hooks ups to Nistune. I have my AEM wideband wired to Emanage Ultimate and it works flawlessly and displays AFR as long as the car is on. How does it work with Nistune?

You need a 96 ECU, they also support the 95 but that is a different board I believe. I have been able to delete them but only temporary in my experience. my AEM work perfect with the Nistune Ecu, display's the AFR the same way..

cool thanks, Do you know if the 96 ECU will work in my 97 without any issues? Im a cali specs AT

Did you purchase an individual license to have it tuned? I hope not.. I already have a tuner to tune it for me.

Did you have to buy their Consult cable? 95 bucks for a cable is a lot. Im sure it can be found cheaper.

I sent Nistune an email

In my opinion the whole reason of getting nistune is to tune yourself so you won't have anyone tune for you. If someone is going to tune your car then it really doesn't matter what you have. But over all its the best option for the 4th gen maxima. and I have a 95 ecu in my 97 so you can use either 95 or 96 I will give more feedback when I mess with it more

Nope, 95 uses the same board as a 96.

Cool thanks, Im going with a 96 ecu.. don't know if this is true but I read somewhere that if using a 95 ecu in a 97 it would throw a code. But i think its because they used a manual ecu and needed and auto ecu for their auto tranny.

Is it any easier to tune Nistune versus EMU yourself? You still need to know what your doing tuning either one.

My point of wanting the Nistune is because Im my opinion and experience EMU is to unstable.. and the stock ECU is always fighting against the EMU especially in idle.. again the is from my experience. Many tuners I contacted won't even tune EMU because of my previous statement. I know others have tuned it successfully but I have been unfortunate so Im looking to move on to something better.

btw did you guys purchase the consult cable from Nistune? They want 95 bucks for it and Im wondering if it can be had cheaper somewhere else.
