NisTune
Now this makes sense as Mat didn't explain it to me in that much detail. You bring 12v to the positive side of the solenoid and the ground is taken from the EGR solenoid ( your trigger output from Nistune at a set RPM) and EGR disbaled in Nistune. When it's time for emissions if needed switch it back to stock and enable EGR in software.
Vac canister:
This is the info I got from Matt..
"The MEVI requires a VCT controller of sorts to activate the solenoid to control the valve timing. I identified that the only available output would be the one controlling the EGR solenoid. The EGR output is negative controlled. You change the wiring from the EGR to the VCT solenoid. The other end of the VCT solenoid is ignition switched 12V power. This activates the VCT solenoid when in certain load/rpm ranges.
EGR solenoid will no longer function once VCT is enabled. In the software you disable ‘EGR’ to use the output for VCT. You need to disconnect EGR solenoid and wire to VCT. Do not splice and run two solenoids from the single driver output! It would blow up the driver due to excessive current load.
If you need EGR for emissions later on, then swap the wire back and reenable the ‘EGR’ tickbox in the ‘feedback flags’ parameter in the software."
My ECU should be there tomorrow
