Tire Issues

I now have somewhere around 12-13k on my Yokohoma AVS ES100 and they are almost at the wear bars, or already there, on all four corners. I was going to go a little longer but I scraped a curb and sliced a flap in the front right sidewall. I know I need to replace at least 2 tires but will probably go ahead and get 4. I want something with a little longer treadlife. I remember some people recommending Kumhos. Were they the ECSTA Supra 712 or were they some other tire? Also, any additional recommendations for a performance summer tire (it never snows down here) would be great. Thanks!

Nitto NT-450. Or check Tom's post in this forum. He just bought some Sumitomo's (sp?) and seems happy with them. After riding on Nitto 450s and 555s it would take a lot of work to convince me to buy anything else.

I've heard the 712's are a really nice tire for the price. They last forever! The downside is a really stiff sidewall, perhaps a harsher ride quality than a premium brand tire.

Any other comments on the 712's? I really need something that will last longer than my Yokos did. The Nitto's look really nice but they are a little too expensive compared to others. TireRack doesn't carry them???? Will I regret going to an all-season tire from a strictly performance tire?

TireRack didn't carry em when I bought each of my last sets but Discount does. They were $124 per tire for 245/45/17 in the 555. The 450 in a 225/50/16 was only like 93 a tire. I don't know what you're looking to spend but that they're a really good value for the $$.

Now I am just thinking about buying Yokos again. I really like the tires and I can't even find a bad review on them on tirerack. I thought those Falkens had terrible tread wear?

I just couldn't buy anything buy my Yoko AVS ES100's again. I ordered 4 more this morning. Hopefully I will get a little longer treadwear out of these and I will be doing more highway driving. They should be here wednesday.
