stuck wheels

When I got my wheels a couple months ago, they came with hubcentric rings. I don't remember what the size was, but I remember looking it up and thinking it was right, but I thought they went on a little snug. Anyways, now I need to take my wheels off to work on the brakes, and damned if the wheels aren't stuck on there. Any suggestions, or do I just need to use a lot of elbow grease?

Pick up a rubber hammer/mallet from Autozone, and gently knock the rim off.
