need suggestions for wheels

I need to get some wheels for 97 Maxima GLE. The ones that I bought it with are in terrible conditon.
I had very bad experience with aftermarket wheels for SHO,
so I want to be very careful with this purchase.
I don't need anything crazy, just want a comfortable ride,
I would get the original rims if I could find a good set,
but that's not easy. The budget is up to $600, but the cheaper
the better. The car's color is pearl white. I don't know if painted white or black wheels would look good, but I'm certain that I don't need chrome. So it's silver, black or white. If anyone's got the same color car, I would love to see the pictures with custom rims.
I don't want to buy anything that has a detachable center piece. Those disappear quickly in New York City . I'll appreciate suggestions on the type of tires as well. Again, I look for comfortable and quite ride, more than anything else.

Thank you all in advance.

You could definately get really cheap stock rims on this forum easily. With the number of people buying aftermarket, that makes for a lot of stock rims around. Post a WTB in the sales forum.

Or if you still want aftermarket rims:

Re: Re: need suggestions for wheels

I visited the 'wheels page' before. It only has the links to different
resellers. I'm interested in people's feedback. I know some wheels
bend much faster than others, some are impossible at speeds above 60 mph, many other issues, so I would like to know what type of wheels are people satisfied with on 4th generation Maximas.

thank you

A few rims I know about:
Volk TE37s are extremely strong
SSR Comps and Integrals are somewhat weak (my brother bent his 17s)

If you're really worried about wheel strength and finding wheels that won't give you a problem, nothing beats OEM wheels.

The OEM 16"s would probably be best for your situation. Volks would cost a lot more than 600$ with tires, probably 4 times that. Used would be the way to go.
