50 lbs wheels and tires too much?

I just weighed my 19's with nitto 555 tires on them . Together each of them weighed 51 lbs. This sound very scary to me. Do most 18's and above usually weigh this much.

Thats not so bad. My 18"s with tires weigh that much.


If I keep the Max, I'll probably upgrade with some gunmetal 19" TE-37s...

Wow, so weight wont really hurt me just the extra rotational force of the bigger rim size will right. I heard that this could hurt my 0-60 time by .2 but give same 1/4 et with higher trap speed.

No. Weight and rim size both effect acceleration, but weight being the bigger factor. 1lb increase in unsprung weight equals 8lbs of sprung weight.
I gained .25 in the 1/4 by shaving off 40lbs of wheel weight.

That's not so bad. OEM 17's+RE92's weigh in at about 52lbs.

My 18's+HTR weigh in at 49lbs and i can definitely feel the difference in pickup.
