Odd question about new tires

I just got new tires and they've got these small prongy rubber things sticking out of the sidewall in spots. Am I supposed to just yank these off?

just let the tire be. don't worry about those things sticking out. it's used in part of the tire molding/manufacturing process...i BELIEVE it's to inject the compound or release the mold.

Yeah if they're the nibs left over from the injection you can pull them off if they **** you off, but otherwise don't worry about them.

I'm not sure if tires are still made this way, but remember when you were a kid and would feel the tread of a brand new tire and notice how "hairy" it was?
