i had many rims n tires throughout my life. the best tire i had was the toyo proxes 4 that came out this year. the wanli's aren't that good. basically its an ok tire if you have no money. but i dented the crap out of my 18's since it has such a soft sidewall. n the turning isn't as good due to the soft sidewall. but it runs good in the snow too. i've tried them n i thought they were better than my stock all season. bridgestone turanza

wanli is like hankook, nankang and kumho..cheap summer only tires with low treadwear ratings (meanign they'll burn out in less than 20k)
Personally I wouldn't buy Wanli, Nankang, Hankook, Ventus, or any of these cheapass brands. You get what you pay for.
I can't talk about Wanli and Nankang, but Kumho and Hankook shouldn't be marginalized.

Say what you will about the other budget tire manufacturers, but Hankook definitely isn't a "cheapass brand". They've been very successful in specialty markets (drag, off-road, etc.), and they're trying to break into consumer tires by offering their stuff for cheap. They're also partially owned by Michelin.

Hankook and Kumho was upcoming a few years ago and nobody heard of them back then. Now, they are respected brands. Maybe wanli and nankang are upcoming?? Let's just see what people say about them that actually have them. Everything else is just hearsay.

Straightline Traction: Traction from dead stop is Great....I would say better then my last tires I had (Kumhos Ecsta)
Wet/Dry Comparison: I took car out when it was raining hard to try these tires in wet road.....I tried doing 360's & 180's but tires would catch & grip road....I would say the wet traction is very good.....slamming on brakes from 40mph in rain, the car slid a bit but then it would grip & stop

so far i've had tires for over 4k miles....so far so good.....i'll keep another update in like 5k miles......

1 year 3 mos. later & i still have 2 of these tires in rear going....

the 2 that i dont have: 1 that was mounted on front passenger side got a bubble on sidewall facing street somehow 6-7mos. after having them on car.

the other was was on rear drivers side & they found a bubble on sidewall facing underneath car & that was also 6-7mos. into tires.

just wanted to give slight update...when i get chance i'll check threadwear...

I have some 245/35/20 Wanli's and they have been good to me I have 24,000 miles on them ... I like them a lot and will get some more! they do have some cracks int he side wall on the inside of the tire but thats my fault cause when i got them the tires were already on the rim and i did not check the pressure, mine need to have like 50psi in them and I had like 20psi.... i guess because they are low profile I did not notice the low pressure...(and i did not check it) since i have had the correct pressure in them they have been great. even though I have 24,000 miles i still have alot of tread wear left.

i dont run wanli but i have essenza evo tires in 18" and these r some crazy good tires, in both fast/slow/turning really everything concerened they are great and these last very well. i plan to buy another set once i have a chance.

the evo's are basically a goodyear eagle f1 supercar tire and i think that people give tires that they dont know much about a negative rap for no reason. i say in this internet ready world we could easily find out if the tires we want to buy are good by looking them up or asking other what they think of them.

I had them on my old car ( 94 Probe GT ) They were pretty nice really, good traction, no weird noise, NOT the best on the wet, but great for the price.
