Recommend me a good tire for my 98 se...

I just picked up a 98 se and the tires are shot. I'm looking for a good tire, not too expensive (under $100 a tire), that I can order from tirerack. Size is 215/55R16. Snow traction isn't that important as I'm planning on getting some steel wheels with snow tires for the winter season. This tire will just be for dry and rain. Any recommendations? Thanks guys.

Welcome to the .org. Try searching tirerack.com for your tires. Personally, I'd recommend the Kumho 712 which is summer-only tires - great in dry and wet traction. Or.... if you drive in the snow in winter, get the Continental ContiExtremeContact, which is ultra-high performance all-season tires. Good luck.

Those Continentals look pretty nice. Do you think if I run those I could forgo getting steelies with snow tires? I go to school in Erie and the lake effect snow gets pretty bad.

edit: Oh, and thanks for the welcome. It looks like I'll be spending a lot of time here in the future.
