RE050s would be on front of course.

Found a pretty good deal on TWO RE050s, so just wondering.

Thanks.

Well, one concern which comes to mind is the differing capabilities of the tires, especially in the wet. I would hate to become overconfident with the fronts, hit a corner in the rain and have the rear end swing out, etc.

I hear ya, but if I've never broke wet traction on the RE92s?

I doubt I'd push them hard enough to find out.

I don't really recommend this, but if your front tires are really worn out and looking for an immediate replacement, by all means go ahead. I'm guessing the RE050 is only temporary and acts like a prelude to a new set of wheels/tires?

Also, the problem with RE92 is not really wet traction. Rather, it's when you go over a standing water/pool and it will start to hydroplane.

You can get away w/ it. I've done it before for at least few thousand miles. I had oem tires in back and snow tires in front

Yeah, just until I cough up for 18s.

I figured, since my OEMs are still OK tread wise, but near the end, I'd just keep rotating them on the rears ONLY and keep the RE050s on the front.

Just wasn't sure if mixing tire types is dangerous or not, so I see your point.

Thanks~!
