Tire Help Today!!!!

Just bought a used maxima last night. 99 SE, Standard. Did all the research on it through maxima.org. Now for the problem, on the way to work this morning, blow out. Now I knew it was going to have new rubber soon, but dam. Anyway the question for you maxima gods out there is this. The car had 225/50/16 on the stock wheels, is that bad or good? Go back to original size stay here or do like a 225/55/16 to fill the wheel well??

I would stick with the 225/50/16 and worry about the wheel gap later.
