Good Wheel Spacers?? (20mm)
Good Wheel Spacers?? (20mm)
OK so i finally got around to laying my wheel upside down and laying the BBKit assembly inside it.
I then started to put in material of different sizes to measure how big of a spacer I would need.
10mm Hits completely
15mm Rubs
20mm Doesn't hit or rub
I'm sure 20mm is enough and 25mm would be way too much clearance.
Now moving forward I need to find a good quality 20mm spacer kit.
I have heard of few options:
1. Buy spacers and replace stock studs with extra long studs
2. Buy spacers and just tighten to stock studs as much as possible (very risky... not enough thread)
3. Buy spacers that your stock studs thread into and come with new threads into spacer.
Option 3 seems very secure and probably the best bet.
Does anyone recommend a kit like this?
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks

I have heard of the 3rd type you're talking about, and I think H&R even makes one (can't remember the model name though).
I haven't actually seen pics of that style before, do you have any of whatever brand?

You want the H&R spacers that are 20mm, they come with longer lugs as well. Its a much better solution than doing your option 3 which is not as safe as you think. Also at 20mm your lugs are not even going to catch the studs at all.

Can you expand on that?
OK so BigDogJonx says H&R
maxima98vspec says TRAK+
and slammed95 says "No Way"..
confused is running with 15mm spacers custom made like option 3.
So this way stock lugs screw into spacer and spacer lugs hold on wheel (so essentially spacer has 10 holes).
Don't know which way to go..
Should be okay I think as long as a get a nicer set of spacers compared to just a spacer and trying to figure out a way to get my lugs to work or installing 60mm lugs.
Anymore feedback? I'm sure someone has done this.

Can you tell me the model number to purchase for these spacers?
Also I need to purchase spacer seperate from lugs or is it 1 kit?
Thanks
The H&R comes in many sizes, dont know the model. Just ask for the H&R spacer for a maxima in 20mm and it comes in one piece with the lugs. Redlinemax.com can get them, they are on an order basis only. I dont think anyone carries them instock.
