NO! That is 100% wrong.

The number on the sidewalls is the MAXIMUM pressure that they should run. So if the tire says "45 psi" you DON'T automatically fill it right up to that. I would go and consult a tire store or the place where you bought them. I believe it has to be higher than OE tire pressure, but how much depends on things like load rating and things that I can't recall at the moment. At the least they can give you a baseline to start with and you can adjust it from there.

I don't believe that people still think you read the side of the tire for the pressure.....

I run 32 in mine, I get better traction when I run more like 40 but the ride gets too harsh for every day driving on my ground controls when I run them that high.
