OEM Bridgestone tire replacement
#4
I recently replaced my Captenzas - first with a set of Pirelli winter 210 Snow Sports for the winter, and more recently, with the Turanza LS-V's for the rest of the time.
It was a tough choice between the Turanzas and the Michelin Pilot Sports, but at the end of the day price won out.
Compared to the Potenzas... well... they simply don't compare to the Turanzas at all. Not even close. The Turanzas provide a MUCH smoother ride - soaking up little bumps and expansion joints like they're not even there. They produce MUCH less road noise (my Max now provides a very Lexus-like highway experience). And of course, the Turanzas are VASTLY better in the wet.
Dry handling, steering response are all really very good, though not as good as an all-out performance summer tire and probably a notch behind the Michelin Pilot Sports.
I haven't had them long enough to evaluate tread wear, but that is supposed to be one of their strong points.
Happy hunting.
