Will 15" wheels fit Max?
Will 15" wheels fit Max?
My Maxima is in need of new tires. Having shopped around locally, I've found out the stock 17" all season tires are hard to come by. So I've been thinking about my options.
Since I no longer drive the Max (wife's now). I thought of buying stock 16" wheel/tire combo off the .org and sell the 17" wheels.
Or get some 17" summer tires and buy a set of 15" steel wheels with Blizzaks from a member on this forum for winter.
My question is, will there be enough clearance for the brakes on 15" wheels?

I'd definitely do 16" if you can come across them. 15" would look absolutely terrible on a Maxima due to the already HUGE wheel gap. Aesthetics aside, it may be a safety issue as the car will undoubtedly handle and drive much worse with signifigantly smaller wheels/tires. Just my $.02
thanks for the help. I'd better pass on the 15" wheels to be on the safe side. I found a set of all season tires at a reasonable cost here in Omaha. BFGoodrich Traction T/A's, 225/55/17. Don't really care about the profile of the tires. Wife drives the Max now. All she wants is good traction in all weather.
