235/45/17 Pirelli PZero Nero M+S Excellent tire. Great grip in dry and wet. Same, maybe better than Pirellis SP5000 I had before.

Sear's Gardsman(or something like that)
They are extremely hard, but have lasted over 30k miles already, and will probably go just as long again.

Soon to be some Falken's.

Yoko Avid V4's 215/55/16 on Stock SE's. Not too bad in 4-6 inches of snow.

I've got some Michelin Arctic Alpin's for winter.

Kumho Ecsta MX 245/35/19 on my Miglia's.

Alpins for winter in Vancouver? You must travel inland to ski.

Nope. The Alpins were ON the car when I got it. Just kept the set in case.

Generally the cheapest I can find. My 00 came with Nittos when I bought it used and when one of the tires blew I replaced both of them on the back with Michelon MVX4 plus or some crap like that for around 135/piece. I think they're only H rated. My 97 I bought used came with nittos as well and I'm about to give it new fronts and will most likely not bother with V rating on those either, and just get some cheap Hs. I hate myself.

I just ordered these tires today, looking forward to testing them out and hope they perform well.

Bridgestone RE950 225/50/16 on '00 5-sp wheels. Very good, especially in the wet with the "uni-t" dual rubber compound in the tread. Good wear, great handling. quiet.

Had Dunlop D60 A2's before that in 215/55/16 and was terribly unimpressed with their wear, wet handling once the tread wore down past 1/2, and they picked up *every* @&#^$% rock and pebble they rolled over and flung it at the rocker.

I just got a set of Sava Rapidex R2 V-rated, 225/50/16. It's a Goodyear/Dunlop brand made in Slovenia but bought by Goodyear 6 years ago. I never heard of them til the day I bought them. I figured they are better than junk yard brands and being that its made in Central Europe where there's extreme wet/snowy weather, the tires should handle real well on such conditions. Plus my budget was very limited so instead of spending the same amount of money on Pepboy's chepo brands, I went for this V-rated tire. So far, the performance is real good on dry surfaces which is way better than the stockers I had. Will see how it does on wet surfaces once LA gets some rain.

Yokohama AVS Db S2 205/65/15 for stock SE wheels on the '91. Just ordered them to replace some ****** Mastercraft. I swear, the pervious owner of my maxima I could just choke slam him. I despise people who buy cheap-o tires, and don't know about prevenative maintenance items to replace.

Bridgestone Potenza S-02 - (Not the CRAP RE92!!!!!)

235/45/-17 - SE Stock Wheels

Unnoticably and just barely used for $400, mounted and balanced

Absolutely incredible grip. Feels like 4 wheel drive. Really cool looking tread pattern.

225/50/17 Michelin Pilot A/S on stock 2k2 SE Wheels

Pricey, a little road noise, but they do everyting well. Tracking is much improved. Wet/dry/snow grip are all great. Treadwear looks excellent after 23K miles.

I use 17" Michelin Pilot A/S on stock rims for spring, summer, & fall. Michelin Pilot Alpin on 16" steel rims for winter.

The tires perform great, but my winter steel wheels with plastic hubcaps look like dirt. Need to get some 16" alloys for winter.

Continental ContiExtremeContact, 235/45/17 on stock rims.

Just got them today due to a nail in my well-worn RE92's. I hope they are as good as I've read.

Toyo Proxes FZ4 mounted on Centerline RPM wheels. Nice traction, better than I expected in the wet, lots of smoke when you skid or spin the tires...

Cooper Weathermaster studded snow tires mounted on steel wheels. Never been stuck yet. Lots of traction in snow and ice. They have been to Mt. Hood, Mt. Bachelor and through a bad winter last year.

Some crappy Firestone tires mounted on the stock sawblades. Lasted a long time. no problems at all for the previous owner or myself.

Michelin Energy MXV4+ 215/55/16 93H on stock wheels.

I feel like a real average joe shmoe, everyone else here seems to be racers.

I just bought these and have < 100 miles so far, and like them. I haven't driven them to any limits yet. I used to have the OE Toyo Proxes A05, which I think were crap. Anyone else get these with their car? They wore out after 22K but it could partly be due to a just discovered bad alignment. I'm kinda glad they wore out.

I also briefly tried the Goodyear Assurance Comfortreds. I felt so not in control with those, the steering was so loose and unpredictable and really exacerbated torque steer I only slightly felt before.

BFGoodrich Traction T/A H-rated. Purchased and installed at Costco last week. I love them! Much smoother and quieter than the worn Kumho 712. BTW, they are filled with nitrogen.

Just had some Falken 512's (2K2 OEM size) installed. Haven't really had a chance yet to do much testing, but they actually seem noisier to me. Even my wife and daughter thought so as well.

what does nitrogen do for your tires?
