Finally got some rims!!!

This is the first set of aftermarket rims that I've ever bought. I got them from www.buywheelstoday.com, who hooked me up with a good deal.

They are Finn Racing F104 17x7" rims, mounted on 225/45-17 Toyo Proxes 4. The rims weight almost exactly what my stock 5-spoke 16s did so I'm not really far off on weight.

Here are 2 pics...

I am more than happy with these rims...let me know what you think.

Very nice selection. I'm also looking for some new rims, maybe some lightweight bronze 5Zigens.

Thanks for the comments!
My car is dropped with Eibachs...

The Toyos are 10x better than the Potenzas I used to have with my 16s...Soooo much better.

shouldn't the tires be 225/50/17? The stock 16s are 215/55/16 right?

The general consensus in the Tire forums are 225/45/17s...as it is my aftermarkets are causing my speedo to be 1.35% faster than stock size.
A 225/50 size tire would make my speedo run 2.137% too slow.

It looks pretty good.
Your overall look of the car is nice.
There are a few too many spokes on the wheels, IMO.

Keep up the good work.

They look good, but once you go up to some Dubs -1 then you'll want bigger rims. Trust me on that one

I Love my 17's. Around here I wouldn't want to go any bigger. The streets are horrible. Plus I think mine look a little bigger than 17 too.
Why would you have to change suspension? People have 20's on stock suspension.

go for 18's bro. My first set i bought was 17's now i just ordered some 18's becuz 17's are too small on a max. 17s look good on a small car like an integra or civic but not a large sedan like the maxima.

Nice rims. They're very clean and match the character of the car. I wish I could have afforded those Toyo tires.

Concerning the tire size, you're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't 225/45R17s are the best diameter size, but technically they don't have the correct load rating. The 225/50R17 have the correct load rating, but they're slightly bigger (~3/8") in diameter therefore giving a but more speedometer error. This time around I went with 225/50R17s because I thought the tire would introduce more ride compliance and possibly close up the wheel well gaps. I was correct on both accounts. I really like the closed up gaps. When I'm in the car, my gaps with H&R springs are about 1.25". Using two different GPS units I have for work, I tested the speedometer error and oddly the GPS units were dead on in relation to the speedometer. I test at 30mph, 60mph, and 90mph.

That's what I was thinking as well...about the load rating. I checked out the tire load rating (94W 225/45zr-17) and each one has a max load of 1477lbs, compared to stock ~1609lbs iirc. So I don't think the load rating is too far off from what my car needs. Another thing I took into consideration was that the tire was making less revolutions per mile than my stock wheels were.

Going 45s and the wheel gap was the only thing I was truly worried about. I haven't measured the gap yet but it is pretty close to yours since I have Eibach springs.

I find this last bit of info interesting though. I would believe that your speedo has been off for awhile before you switched over to the 225/50s...that is pretty cool though that it is actually correct. I figured going with 50 series would read about 2.8% too slow.

Thank you for your compliments though...I really appreciate it.

-Jeff

P.S. I looked up on the Toyo website and they don't sell a 50 series for 17s. Is it true that it is harder to find a 225/50-17 than a 225/45-17? Maybe the 45 series is the norm?
