I don't see why not. The rim will just be slightly in more to the suspension parts than the factory wheels which shouldn't harm anything. Just to note, though, aren't the Max's and I30's 5 lug, not 4 lug?

Offset is fine, but you need to make sure you're looking at 5x114.3 lug wheels not 4x.

Will fit perfectly. Go with a 235/40/18 tire and you are good to go. Make sure to at least get hub rings for the front two wheels, all 4 would be better. Our hub is 66.1mm. The SSR hub size is 73mm. If you don't know what I'm talking about just ask your rim shop for a 73mm to 66.1mm hub ring.

You need to get at least 8" wide rims. You need to get some spacers too with that offset.

Tks for all the info here, but can someone explain why 18x8 is "better" than 18x7.5 beside better handling?

It all depends on what size tire you want to mount. I'd figure out what size tire you need/want, and then go from there. If you get a rim size that is closer to the middle of the tire's rim-size range, rather than on the extremes, you will have more choices available to you in the future if you want to upsize or downsize (or change profile within a particular width...)

As an example, a 245/45-18 may take a 7.5-9 inch rim, but a 245/40-18 may take a 8-9.5 inch rim. If you get the 245/45 on a 7.5 inch rim now, but then find out you have rubbing issues, you would technically be out of spec for mounting the shorter sidewalled 245/40...

Rule of thumb: the wider the rim for a given tire, the better the handling; the narrower the rim for that same tire, the better the ride.

Plenty of guys use spacers, but if you can get the same wheel with less offset, that is much better (its like a built-in spacer). Less things to get out of balance!

check out the FAQ sticky under the 5th gen forum. It has a lot of great info. For wheels, look for the topics on page 5&6:

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=36867

Posts 66-68, 71, and 79.

There's a lot of discussion of tires to mount on the stock 17x7, but the arguments are valid for any tire/wheel combo you may want to consider.

Hope this wasn't too technical!

Good luck....
