19's are going to run you like $1200-$1500 or more for some decent ones.
If you get some lightweight ones.....like you should.....they might even be a little more.
Some of them are over $500 per wheel...........Volks.
They only weigh like 12 lbs each though.

IMO, if you don't spend $1K don't even bother. Its rare to get a good setup for less than that. Spend what it costs to make it right. I suggest non-chrome, extremely light rims. tirerack.com has great prices and excellent customer service.

Go to tirerack.com it gives you a pic of the car with the rims you select. It gives prices too.

Agreed, tirerack is good. i bought my 17" 18# rims from them for like $1100 bucks. thats including tires. kinda heavy but very nice rims and tires. thats not too much for rims and tires i dont think. But ya, if u want lightwieght rims ur gonna pay out the ****. like they said above, ur good ones can run up to 500 a rim or even higher. How much YOU wanna spend is well... up to ur pocketbook, not my opinion.

Mine weigh 14.3Ibs at 17x8 and I only paid $300/rim. Volks are overated. Go SSR Type C's all the way.

Volks are not overated. They are truly top quality rims.

Mine weigh 18.5lbs at 18x8 and I only paid $250/rim (with a Pirelli P7000 tire on it). Go SSR Integrals all the way.

But seriously, even though lightweight wheels are really nice, you don't need them if you don't race or care that much about acceleration. The only thing I would caution against is buying a "cheap" brand because at 19", there isn't much tire protecting your rim from getting bent and/or destroyed by a pothole. Good luck.

Volks are overated and I don't really understand why. They aren't extremely light, they aren't noted for durability or strength and they sure as hell don't have a racing herritage to their credit. Lets look more into this racing herritage business. More specifically a class that races cars very similar in stature to ours. The Grand Am Cup series is dominated by three rim manufacturers. BBS leads the way followed by OZ and then SSR. There are some weak showings by other companies but they are weak at best and usually are on the team cars with low budgets.

That said, it should be clear to you that my opinion is clearly biased toward performance orientation. Do what you want. Just keep in mind that lugging around those extra pounds and inches doesn't help with gas mileage.

Ammi, why you selling your Type C? You just have one or what? You not satisfied with the second best bang for the buck performance rim out there behind Slipstreams?

While we're on this subject why are HRE's rims considered so godly? They don't seem spectacular in any way besides the bling factor.

There you go. Why do people want to put chrome 22's on their 4th gen? For some people, image is everything and if you drop $5000 on a set of wheels, your 'credibility' (I use that term loosely) goes up.

HRE wheels are purpose built...if you have a semi exotic car or one that you need a crazy offset/width you buy HRE wheels or something similar. There is no reason to put them on a Maxima or really anything else that costs less than say 40-50k. To get back on topic in my opinion the price of your wheels should reflect the price of your car. Also it should be something you can afford. For example if you have a 25k car like most 5th gens I don't see a problem spending about 3k on wheels. I'd just take the value of your car into account when you shop for wheels. Oh and if you don't want to spend at least 1k on new wheels you might as well stop reading right now....

Okay, I understand now. There are plenty of companies that make custom offsets, diameters, widths and lug patterns so why are HRE's so covetted over Kenisis or any other custom manufacturer?

Kinesis, Fiske, BC Forged, GFG, and tons of other manufactures most people don't hear about are out there just as nice if not better than HRE. These wheels make Volks look like a set of 15" chrome American Racing rims. But they don't belong on a Maxima of any generation.

Watching people wax philosophical about the reasons to buy certain wheels and the percieved value of certain wheels is quite comical.... Anyway, to the guy who posted this thread, get whatever you like and can afford. DON'T however ask us how much you should spend on wheels, that's just stupid. If you like Ramen noodles eat Ramen noodles, if you like filet mignon w/ baked portabella mushrooms then eat filet mignon with baked portabella mushrooms, but don't ask us what you should eat or what you can afford to eat for dinner.

Volk wheels are made by Rays Engineering. Rays wheels, including those of the Volk lineup and other lineups such as Nismo, Ralliart, STi, Mazdaspeed, and TRD are used or have been used in tons of race series including German DTM, German DTC, WRC, FIA GT, JGTC, and the list goes on.
